Anton Casey caused an uproar in the country after posting a series of abusive photographs on Facebook where he called a local taxi driver a "retard" and referred to commuters as "the poor".

The comments caused social media furore, and a public backlash against the wealth fund manager.

In response The Tuckshop, a hip local neighbourhood bar in Singapore dedicated a special happy hour for Casey, offering him a special S$120 rate for a pint of beer, and S$12 for 'the rest of us poor Singaporeans'.

The Tuckshop posted the signboard on their Facebook page and the tongue-in-cheek announcement became a social media hit.

Local media soon jumped on the bandwagon, spreading The Tuckshop's promotion on a range of blogs and local newspapers

The gag even got exposure in the International press.

The campaign led to a huge spike in likes for The Tuckshop page.

The promotion also spread on Instagram.

The promotion lead to an increase in weekly revenue of 20% for The Tuckshop as people came to see the sign and show their support.
